About The Vintage & Classic Car Hirer’s Australia (VCCHA)
The Vintage & Classic Car Hirer’s Australia (VCCHA) is an association for accredited event transportation operators and owners of chauffeur-driven vehicles, including limousines, prestige, and classic cars. Membership includes participation in the annual $20 million group public liability insurance policy.
History of the VCCHA:
Originally established in the early 1970s as The Vintage & Classic Hirer’s Association Inc., the association was founded in NSW by a passionate group of classic car owners. Coordinated by secretary and member Brian Morris, the group met regularly to share their love for classic vehicles at car shows, weekend outings, and social events.
Sadly, Brian passed away in February 2020, but his legacy lives on through the association. Many of the original members have continued to run their vehicle hire businesses, offering chauffeur-driven classic car rentals for weddings, corporate events, school formals, and more.
In 2012, Deborah-Jane (DJ) Gillard, owner of Kombi Celebrations, became a member of the VCCHA. Following Brian’s passing, DJ was approached to help prevent the closure of the association, which would have greatly affected its 50+ members, particularly the continuation of the crucial $20 million public liability insurance policy.
In August 2020, with the support of the association’s insurance broker, a new association was formed, and the name was slightly changed to The Vintage & Classic Car Hirer’s Australia Inc. (still referred to as VCCHA), ensuring the continuation of the group policy for all members.
